Texas Bluebonnet List










































                                                         


     Nominees for the 2007-2008 school year

* This program is only found in Texas. Every year a group of librarians and teachers get together and carefully select 20 books they think kids will like and give the list to librarians around the state.

* Kids 3rd through 6th grades are given the opportunity to read at least 5 of the 20 books by January in order to vote for their favorite. The votes are sent in to the Texas Library Association and the winner is announced in February. The author is honored at the annual TLA conference in April.

* The more bluebonnet books you read, the better you can vote. Mrs. G. has a favorite but won't tell anyone until voting is over.

*The books are located at the beginning of the non-fiction section.
